God i hate frat boy Hal. He was such a goddamn creep in #2. He literally got a job solely to manufacture a situation where Carol couldn’t escape, actively fucked with the plane (what!!) just so he could isolate Carol, and then interrogated her on why she won’t take him back. He can’t take no for an answer. It’s disgusting. It’s a huge disservice to his character. I’ve just finished reading GL vol 2 in its entirety and like, this feels so grotesquely out of character. Who is this creep.

Yuup. I don’t think it’s inaccurate to make him a little pushy and reckless, but this issue just takes it too far. Taking a job to basically stalk and corner you ex-girlfriend isn’t like, healthy behaviour? Or something the actual hero of the story should be doing? Unless we’re suddenly reading The Boys or something?

i associate the genre with him sm that it surprised me to see someone hc him actively disliking it

my only frame of reference could hardly be called evidence, but hey, he brought up the comparison himself

now i’m curious if there’s any reason to believe the opposite, would love to see any scenes for or against the hal jazz enjoyer headcanon

op idk if you've read the whole comic these panels are from but barry is a huge jazz fan and he takes hal on what's totally not a date to a jazz club and Hal is on Barry's phone bored out of his mind and Barry is also confused because he thought Hal would like jazz because it's improvisational like him Not my tag
